For the new bloggers, there is some basic terms in the blogging that you should need to know.

  1. Blog
  2. This blog is kind of journal or diary, but in the internet version. We shall write anything on either blog about our lives, our interests or expertise. Most of blogs are maintained by people who know nothing about the web site or development.
  3. Blogger
  4. A "Blogger" is a person who has and maintains a blog. Always keep writing and updating their blog.
  5. Blogging
  6. Is the active updating of blog content by the person or posting comments on someone else's blog.
  7. Blogger.com
  8. Blogger.com is a free blog service provider. People said the provider of the popular blog owned by Google. We do not have to buy the domain and webhosting. Blogspot.com is the main domain name assigned to the blogger.
  9. Wordpress.com
  10. WordPress.com lets you easily create your own blog, and write about the things that interest you. It is a blogging community managed by makers of the open source WordPress software. WordPress.com blogs are free with the option of adding upgrades such as personalized domain names, custom CSS, video storage, and more. In comparison, a self-hosted WordPress.org blog does not have upgrades and must be installed on a web hosting account separate.
  11. Wordpress.org
  12. Wordpress.org provides the software to create your blog, but Wordpress.org does not host your blog on the Internet for you. You will have to pay a separate hosting provider to obtain a domain name and host your blog online. Using Wordpress.org with a paid hosting service provides maximum flexibility and customization.
  13. Plugin
  14. Plug-in applications are programs that can easily be installed and used as part of your Web browser. However, these applications run as a separate application and require that a second window be opened. A plug-in application is recognized automatically by the browser and its function is integrated into the main HTML file that is being presented.
  15. Widget
  16. Is a software widget for the web. It's a small application that can be installed and executed within a web page by an end user. They are derived from the idea of code reuse. Other terms used to describe web widgets include: portlet, gadget, badge, module, webjit, capsule, snippet, mini and flake.
  17. Blogosphere
  18. The blogosphere is made up of all blogs and their interconnections. The term implies that blogs exist together as a connected community (or as a collection of connected communities) or as a social network in which everyday authors can publish their opinions.
  19. Blogroll
  20. A blogroll is a list, sometimes categorized, of links to webpages the author of a blog finds worthwhile or interesting. The links in a blogroll are usually to other blogs with similar interests. The blogroll is often in a "sidebar" on the page or featured as a dedicated separate web page. BlogRolling and blo.gs are two websites that provide some interesting functions or help related to blogrolls. These sites provide methods for users to maintain these rolls effortlessly and integrate them into weblogs. WordPress has a built-in Link Manager so users do not have to depend on a third party for creating and managing their blogroll.
  21. Blogwalking
  22. Blogwalking, a popular term among the Malaysian, Indonesian, and Philippines bloggers. Blogwalking is a technique to increase blog traffic by visiting other blogs and leave your marks there. The other blogger is then expected to reciprocate by visiting your blog
